Dr. Fatima Wilder, a thoracic surgeon and lung cancer expert, explains that most lung cancer screening is covered by health insurance if you have a high risk of lung cancerand meet the criteria for lung cancer screening. If you don't meet the criteria, talk with your primary care physician to see if there are other symptoms, signs, or concerns that may still indicate that screening could be beneficial for you.
